Anita Chand, Accredited Specialist Family Lawyer completed her Bachelor of Laws degree (with Honours) at James Cook University and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia in 1994.
Anita obtained her Queensland Law Society Specialist Accreditation in Family Law in 1999. Anita is currently only one of two accredited family law specialists in private practice in Townville.
Anita received her accreditation in Child Separate Representation in 1997 and has appeared in court matters as the Independent Children’s Lawyer, although she is not currently on the Legal Aid panel. Anita found this work very rewarding.
Anita completed her Mediation Skills Training in 1999 and has chaired mediation conferences for Legal Aid Queensland. Anita became a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in 2010. Anita is highly skilled in mediation in property and children’s matters helping parties to reach a resolution of their matter.
Anita Chand has over 20 years of experience in Family law in Townsville dealing with a wide range of family law matters including complex children and property matters. Anita has a friendly professional manner and provides legal advice in a clear and supportive manner. Anita has exceptional attention to detail and has the ability to see the complexity of every family circumstance and tailor her advice to meet the client’s individual needs in an empathetic and warm matter.
